Chapman Tate Associates is recruiting on behalf of a leading consultancy client for an experienced Insights Data & AI Technical Portfolio Manager. This is a high-impact role within a strategic transformation programme focused on delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that enhance client service, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

This opportunity offers a fully remote working arrangement, a six-month contract, and a competitive day rate of up to £600. The role falls outside IR35.

Role Overview

As Technical Portfolio Manager, you will oversee a portfolio of AI and data initiatives, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals and successful delivery across multiple workstreams. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and client-facing professionals to drive innovation and ensure that data and AI capabilities meet evolving business needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and manage relationships with senior business stakeholders, aligning initiatives with strategic objectives and customer-centric outcomes.

• Lead the strategic alignment and prioritisation of Data & AI projects within the broader transformation roadmap.

• Oversee delivery of the Data & AI roadmap, working closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, and other stakeholders.

• Maintain visibility across all active and upcoming initiatives, ensuring alignment with budget, scope, and governance standards.

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations such as GDPR, UK SOX, and internal risk frameworks.

• Promote responsible AI practices and ensure transparency in both internal and client-facing tools.

• Provide technical leadership to AI and Data Insight teams, supporting the development of scalable and ethical AI solutions.

• Evaluate and implement modern data platforms and AI tools, including cloud-native and generative AI technologies.

• Manage demand and capacity planning, assessing new initiative requests and balancing resources across projects.

• Support proposal development, including statements of work, project plans, and solution scoping.

• Act as the primary liaison for Data & AI workstreams, leading meetings and ensuring effective communication of project status and risks.

• Partner with delivery teams to ensure successful execution of Data & AI initiatives.

• Identify and mitigate risks across the portfolio, escalating issues where necessary and driving continuous improvement.

• Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap aligned with business strategy and technical priorities.

• Oversee financial aspects of Data & AI projects, including cost estimates, budget submissions, and tracking actuals against forecasts.
