Epic Inpatient Clinical Applications Analyst

Clinical analysts are the primary support contact for their specific EpicCare clinical applications. EpicCare Inpatient Clinical System applications includes Epicenter EDR, EMR, Core Clinical Documentation, Extended Clinical Documentation, Medication Administration Record, Mobile Meds, Interdisciplinary Care Plan, Clinical Pathways, ASAP Emergency Department, Willow Inpatient Pharmacy, EpicCare for Hospital Outpatient Services, HIM-Inpatient Deficiency Outpatients Tracking, HIM-Release of Information, Radiant Radiology, Beacon Oncology, OpTime Operating Room Management, Anesthesia EMR, Stork OB /Labor and Delivery EMR and Beaker Laboratory Information System. Coordinates all issues that arise during the project for their application area. Provides System Development Life Cycle management for applications supported to customers for installed applications including meeting with customers, the planning and implementation of upgrades and enhancements, technical support to resolve system problems, and may direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs. Clinical analysts gain in-depth knowledge of the software by attending training at Epic and completing application certification projects and tests. These individuals serve as a bridge between end users and the Epic implementation staffInpatient Clinical Analysts gain in-depth knowledge of the software by attendingtraining at Epic and completing certification projects and tests. Theseindividuals serve as a bridge between end users and the Epic implementationstaff.Serves as Project Lead or Project Team member for the implementation of new systems or the replacement of existing systems. Uses project management techniques to coordinate resources and ensure project timelines, task completion and budgets are met.Provides technical and or clinical consultation. Reviews, analyzes, andevaluates systems needs to develop recommendations for customers. Assists inestablishing technology plans and setting priorities. Demonstrates ability toprobe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and usercommunity.Provides technical services including application configuration, security, programming, report development, or interface development. Plans, organizes and leads the analysis, design, development or technical implementation of information systems projects. Coordinates the development of policies and procedures and resolution of technical problems. Guides, trains, and mentors less experienced staff.Responsible for functional/operational aspects of automation within InpatientClinical Analyst and provides customers with advice and consultations inplanning for technical and process changes.Completes administrative requirements such as financial/technical reports, system documentation, memoranda, and instructional manuals. Business skills include cost analysis, budgeting, coordination, communications, leadership, and planning.


EducationBachelor's degree required, preferably in Health Care, Nursing, Business or computer/Information Sciences, or a combination of comparable skills, experience, training, and/or education.Licensure/CertificationEpic Certification is application-dependent and may be required. EPIC certification, where applicable and/or proficiency training must be completed within 12 months of hire. Certification and/or proficiency must be maintained and/or demonstrated annually.ExperienceThree years experience preferred, preferably in a Nursing or Health Care environment.Familiarity with Healthcare environment and inpatient workflow required.Consistent demonstration of successful system implementations preferred.Project Management experience desirable.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesEffective technical skills including system security, application support,Ability to think critically and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.Knowledge of project management techniques.Good problem resolution, customer service and troubleshooting skillsBusiness or technical analysis skills in the analysis, design, development, or implementation of small to large-scale computer applications.Personal Computer skills, including keyboard, operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, databases and project management software.Ability to communicate complex issues effectively with customers, upper management, and technical personnel.Physical DemandsPhysical abilities necessary to move throughout the hospital, including on campus and off campus buildings, in order to accomplish duties. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Vision to read computer terminals and enter and retrieve data. Manual dexterity to enter and retrieve data.
