This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments. We have an opportunity for Porters to join our team as part of our contract with the NHS, based at Churchill Hospital, OX3 7LJ. This is a full time role working hours per week, covering various shifts. Job Summary: As a Porter, you will be required to transport patients, equipment and goods as required, liaising and communicating with members of the public, patients and other hospital staff so as to provide a timely and efficient service. Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Follow at all times the Trust policies and procedures, ensuring that you are working towards the ; Use machinery, equipment or materials as required throughout the hospital site, ensuring the use of such machinery complies with all requirements. Transfer patients using appropriate equipment and escort patients, visitors or staff as ; Assist with the transference of deceased patients to the mortuary and assist with the reception of bodies into the hospital. Provide a collection and delivery service for specimens, blood products, medical records and any other items related to patient care as directed on the hospital sites. Move furniture and equipment within and between and throughout the hospital site. Assist Security as required in dealing with non-violent, non-aggressive duties ( traffic control). Act upon, attend and assist Fire alarms, Lift alarms, Attack alarms and Bomb alerts. Issue and receive keys as per Trust policy, locking and unlocking doors as and when necessary. Follow all guidance and procedures relating to Healthcare Associated Infection to ensure their safety and that of others, to prevent the spread of infection. Attend all statutory, mandatory and departmental training. Job Requirements: Essential Criteria: To be successful for this role you will have Health & Safety Awareness, knowledge of COSHH and Manual Handling Training. You will be able to work well as a member of a team, be able to communicate in spoken and written English and have a flexible approach to work. You should also have respect for patient privacy, property and confidentiality.
