Are you looking to gain valuable classroom experience in a secondary school setting? Are you confident, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and proactive Cover Supervisors to join a number of secondary schools across Birmingham from September 2025. This is an ideal role for recent graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced support staff looking to make a difference in education.

About the Role:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher. You will deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure students remain engaged in their learning.

The Role Involves:
  • Delivering pre-set work to classes across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Managing classroom behaviour and keeping students on task

  • Promoting a calm and focused learning environment

  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour

  • Supporting the wider school team where required

What Makes a Good Cover Supervisor?

Cover Supervisors are vital in maintaining learning continuity. You will be the responsible adult in the classroom, ensuring that students stay on task and behave appropriately. Confidence, adaptability, and good classroom presence are essential, as well as a genuine interest in education.

Requirements:
  • A degree or experience working with secondary-aged children

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • Flexibility and willingness to work across a range of subjects

  • A professional, approachable, and resilient attitude

  • Enhanced DBS (we can support with this if required)
