Mechanical Service Technician

MJM are currently recruiting for experienced Mechanical Service Technicians for Heathrow. As one of the global market leaders in the design, manufacture, installation, and service of automated material handling systems. The company has an excellent reputation. Key markets include Airports, Warehousing, and Parcel solutions.

This is a permanent role, with a shift pattern of 4 on, 4 off. Days and nights.

The Mechanical Service Technician will be responsible for routine maintenance including, but not limited to;

* Preventative repair and maintenance of conveyors, baggage handling machinery, storage cranes and carrier systems.

* Responding to breakdowns.

* Operational & functionality checks

* Diagnosing faults and root cause analysis

* Log all work conducted, and parts used.

* lubrication and monitoring.

* Diagnosing the root cause of issues and find permanent solutions to issues encountered.

YOUR BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE

It is essential you meet the following criteria to be successful when applying for this

Mechanical Service Technician role;

* Time served apprenticeship or equivalent

* City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or above in a mechanical or electrical maintenance discipline

* Ability to obtain and maintain an airside pass (5 year checkable work history and clean criminal record)

* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Computer literate

The following experience is desirable but not essential for these Mechanical Service Technician positions;

* Previous FMCG, manufacturing or automated warehousing experience

* Mechanical background in a similar environment. Electrical experience is not essential.

* PLC and diagnostic experience

The successful Mechanical Service Technicians must be willing to work shifts including nights.
