We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead the kitchen team at a prestigious hotel in the heart of Oxford. Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen brigade
- Conduct regular team briefings, training sessions, and performance reviews
- Ensure high morale and a positive working environment
Menu Development
- Design and update seasonal menus with a focus on quality, sustainability, and profitability
- Collaborate with suppliers to source the best ingredients
- Ensure dietary needs and allergens are considered across all offerings
Operational Excellence
- Maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations including service, prep, and mise en place
- Work closely with front-of-house to ensure seamless service delivery
Cost Control & Stock Management
- Monitor food cost, portion control, and wastage to achieve budget targets
- Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Maintain up-to-date records for stock, deliveries, and health & safety compliance
Health, Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health & safety, and kitchen cleanliness standards
- Maintain accurate documentation (HACCP, temperature checks, cleaning schedules)

What We’re Looking For:- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality kitchen
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Creative flair with a deep understanding of modern culinary trends
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
- Level 3 Food Hygiene certificate
- Calm under pressure and adaptable to change
