Construction Company - El Dorado Hills Area


Fast growing Home Services firm with headquarters in the El Dorado Hills area, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team of professionals that know how to work hard and leverage their knowledge to make our company better.

General Summary

Opening for an experienced accounting professional with a strong construction small business background. Position is responsible for the periodic review of the accounting policies, procedures and transactions, financial statement preparation and review, and providing recommendations to ensure accuracy and compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Position manages day-to-day operations in their department, works closely with the General Manager and consultatively with the management team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review the general ledger transactions on a monthly basis and make any necessary correcting entries
  • Maintain company fixed assets records and record depreciation expense
  • Record over/under billings
  • Work with management to create the appropriate level of checks and balances and separations of duties
  • Coordinate the provision of information to the external auditor as needed
  • Work with the Management to ensure timely and accurate month-end closing activities are performed
  • Oversee Collections, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable
  • Bookkeeping, General Ledger Posting, Bank Reconciliation, Closing Books
  • Oversee Payroll, Certified Payroll and processing of 1099's
  • Analysis and preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements, , WIP's and other accounting reports


  • Preliminary Tax Preparation - work with outside auditors and tax accountants
  • Internal controls, risk management, compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Technical Knowledge

  • Accounting laws and best practices
  • Accounting software, CRMs, Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Managing and consulting on budget achievement
  • Working knowledge of prevailing wage and certified payroll


  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required
  • Construction industry experience required
  • 5+ years recent accounting experience required


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strongly analytical
  • Extremely organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • General knowledge of business taxes
  • Able to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Resourcefulness
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
  • Working knowledge of job costing and project management
  • Team-Player
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate internally and externally to achieve appropriate solutions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must meet company defined pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record.
