Axon Moore are working with a large FMCG business based in North Manchester, to recruit a part or nearly qualified Finance Business Partner. They are looking for someone who's self-motivated and hardworking in what will be a key role in the finance team.

We are working to appoint a finance business partner who will sit within the group function providing pivotal support in the efficient and effective delivery of operational results, budget and forecast into the consolidated group financial statements and annual report.

Salary and benefits:

Salary - £43-47k DOE plus study support, 33 days holiday including 5 flexible bank holidays, up to 8% pension, free parking, life insurance 3x your salary, 9-5 core hours with flexibility and hybrid working 2-3 days in the office.

Responsibilities include:

Contribute to monthly reporting cycles across central and operational areas, ensuring submissions are accurate and delivered on time for group-level consolidation.
Provide financial insight and support to senior stakeholders, including executives, departmental heads, and finance colleagues, to guide key business decisions.
Support the month-end close process for central and group entities, ensuring proper accounting treatment and robust financial review.
Prepare and deliver reliable management reporting that helps identify opportunities for cost control and process efficiencies across the organisation.
Assist with the coordination and delivery of central cost centre budgets and forecasts, taking direct ownership of several functional areas.
Play an active role in the preparation of executive-level financial reporting and contribute to year-end activities, external submissions, and related deliverables.
Ensure financial processes align with internal controls and governance standards to reduce risk and ensure data integrity.
Work cross-functionally to support central finance topics, collaborating with corporate finance and other internal teams as needed.
Build understanding of internal HR and finance processes that affect central reporting, helping to ensure accurate analysis and interpretation of results.
Maintain regular reporting activities and continuously refine outputs to align with growing business requirements and stakeholder needs.
Identify opportunities for process enhancement and support the alignment of financial practices across functions.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure expectations around timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables are clearly managed.
Support audit preparation and respond to external audit requirements during key reporting periods.
Experience & Skill Requirements:

Part/nearly qualified ACCA/CIMA.
Month end financial reporting experience in a large business.
Experience with SAP would be beneficial.
Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUP/pivot tables) are essential.
Good commercial awareness and able to influence at all levels.
Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate accuracy and pay attention to detail.
Work in a mature, courteous and professional manner.
Strong interpersonal skills - approachable and down to earth with good communication skills.
