TSR Legal are pleased to be partneing with a highly regarded, long-standing law firm in Cardiff who are seeking an experienced Head of Conveyancing to establish and lead a new conveyancing department. This is a rare opportunity to shape a team from the ground up within a respected practice that is investing in substantial expansion.
The Role
As Head of Conveyancing, you will be responsible for building and managing a new department with a strong focus on panel work. You will play a strategic role in developing processes, overseeing the delivery of high-quality residential conveyancing services, and ensuring excellent relationships with referrers, lenders, and panel partners.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and grow a new conveyancing department within the firm.
Build and manage a panel-focused team, ensuring efficient workflows and high service standards.
Develop and implement department strategy, compliance frameworks, and best-practice procedures.
Handle a caseload of residential conveyancing matters as needed, with support from the growing team.
Maintain and grow existing panel relationships and generate new business opportunities.
Work closely with the senior leadership team to support wider firm initiatives and service integration.
Recruit, mentor, and supervise fee earners and support staff as the department scales.
Drive performance, continuous improvement, and excellent client experience.
About You
Experienced conveyancing lawyer (Solicitor, CLC, or equivalent) with a strong background in residential conveyancing.
Proven track record in panel work-including managing panel relationships, meeting panel requirements, and driving panel-driven business.
Demonstrable ability to bring new business and maintain strong referral networks.
Strong leadership qualities with previous experience supervising or managing a team.
Commercially minded with the ability to lead operational development and support business growth.
Highly organised, proactive, and confident in building a department from the ground up.
