Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Type: Contract (Outside IR35)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Leeds, with a primary focus on Stage 4 Detailed Design for contractor-led projects. This role involves working on a range of exciting and technically challenging developments across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and deliver Stage 4 Mechanical Design packages in line with project specifications and timelines

* Collaborate closely with contractors, architects, and other design team members

* Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and reports

* Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and client requirements

* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where needed

Sectors Covered:

Education - Schools and Colleges

Commercial - Office developments and fit-outs

Residential - Multi-unit apartment blocks (typically 50 to 500 units)

Blue Light - Police stations and related facilities

Industrial - Distribution centres, warehousing, and logistics

Requirements:

* Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

* Proven experience delivering detailed mechanical designs at Stage 4

* Strong understanding of building services and sector-specific requirements

* Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES)

* Excellent communication and coordination skills
