My client, a well-established business within the construction sector, is looking for a qualified and proactive Accountant to join their finance team in Billingham. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on role, enjoys working as part of a team, and is committed to delivering accurate and timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations and accruals/prepayments
• Post journals with accuracy and attention to deadlines
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
• Manage CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) returns on a monthly basis
• Submit quarterly onshore intermediaries reports
• Oversee the purchase ledger across group companies and support the sales invoicing process to ensure accuracy

What We’re Looking For

• Excellent communication skills, confident dealing with colleagues at all levels and external stakeholders
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Proficient user of Excel
• Knowledge of Sage 200 is desirable (training can be provided)
• Understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme is an advantage
• Familiarity with payroll processes would be beneficial

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (negotiable based on experience)
• 26 days holiday (rising to 28 after 4 years) plus Bank Holidays

• Full-time hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm
