Are you a calm, confident, and compassionate Behaviour Mentor with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs?

This specialist all-through SEMH school in Wandsworth, supporting pupils aged 5-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and challenging behaviour. The schools dedicated staff team provides a structured and nurturing environment where every student is encouraged to develop resilience, independence, and positive relationships.

The school is looking to recruit an experienced and committed Behaviour Mentor to join their team and make a meaningful impact across the school.

The Role - Behaviour Mentor

* Provide tailored behaviour mentoring for pupils with SEMH, ASD, and complex needs

* Support students 1:1 and in small groups to develop emotional regulation, communication, and social skills

* Deliver de-escalation support and contribute to behaviour management plans

* Build consistent, trusting relationships with pupils to promote engagement and well-being

* Liaise closely with teachers, support staff, pastoral teams and families

* Contribute to restorative practice, therapeutic strategies and positive behaviour interventions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have - Behaviour Mentor

* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, ASD, or challenging behaviour

* A calm, patient and proactive approach to behaviour support

* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and defuse difficult situations

* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice, restorative approaches, or Team Teach (training can be provided)

* Resilience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help young people thrive

* Experience in a school, PRU, youth work, or care setting is highly desirable
