Our client is seeking a passionate and skilled Electronics Design Engineering Manager to lead their electronics team in delivering innovative lighting solutions for commercial and industrial applications. This is a key leadership role at the heart of their R&D efforts, combining hands-on technical work with team management, product strategy, and cross-functional collaboration.

About the Role

As the Engineering Manager, you will oversee the development of electronics systems across the lighting product portfolio—from concept through to production. You'll guide a talented team of engineers, manage project timelines, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable electronics designs. Your expertise in circuit design, embedded systems, and LED control will help our client stay at the forefront of lighting innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the electronics design team, providing technical direction and mentorship.

Oversee the design and development of LED drivers, control systems, and power electronics.

*

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Collaborate with product managers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration of electronics into final products.

Review and approve technical documentation, schematics, PCB layouts, and test plans.

*

Support continuous improvement in design processes, testing, and quality assurance.

*

Stay informed on emerging technologies, standards, and industry trends.

What You'll Need:

Degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field.

*

Proven experience in electronics design for lighting or similar industries.

*

Strong knowledge of power electronics, SMPS, embedded systems, and lighting control protocols (e.g., DALI, DMX, 0-10V).

*

Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams.

*

Proficiency with design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium, SPICE).

*

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Desirable:

Experience with wireless controls (e.g., Zigbee, Bluetooth, Casambi).

*

Knowledge of EMC compliance and regulatory standards.

*

Background in design for manufacture and automated testing.
