Senior Buyer - Public Sector Procurement | Up to £43K | South Birmingham / Hybrid

We're supporting a key client of ours in Birmingham with the recruitment of a Senior Buyer to join their procurement team. While the role primarily focuses on medical, clinical, and surgical categories, they're open to candidates from a generalist background, as long as you bring strong end-to-end tendering experience and a working knowledge of public sector procurement regulations.

Managing the full tendering lifecycle - from sourcing strategy to contract award
Supporting procurement activity across medical and surgical categories (prior experience is ideal, but not essential)
Working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, build sourcing strategies, and deliver value
Ensuring public sector procurement compliance
Delivering cost savings, improving supplier performance, and supporting operational needsWhat are we looking for?

Proven experience in running end-to-end public sector tenders (must have)
Confidence working with a range of stakeholders and suppliers
Examples of successfully managing regulated procurement activity, ideally within NHS or public sector environments
Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail
CIPS or part-qualified (desirable)This role would suit someone who's currently in a Buyer, Senior Buyer or Procurement Officer role and looking for more ownership, or a procurement professional ready to apply their public sector experience in a more focused, impactful way.
