OverviewA growing rural business is seeking an ambitious and hands-on Assistant Accountant to join its finance team during an exciting period of change. This role offers the chance to contribute directly to the development of new processes, support the production of management accounts, and take ownership of key ledger responsibilities. It is well suited to someone who is proactive, driven, and keen to see their role evolve as the business continues to expand.

Key Responsibilities are likely to include:

• Take responsibility for the sales ledger, including raising invoices, cash allocation, reconciliations, and resolving queries
• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Support the Finance Manager with month-end tasks, journals, accruals, and prepayments
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
• Help implement new systems and processes as the business undergoes operational and structural changes
• Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities
• Provide general support to the Finance Manager as needed and provide cover for other members of staff

About You

• Hands-on and confident looking after sales ledger and day-to-day finance activity
• Some exposure to management accounts
• A proactive and ambitious individual who enjoys improving processes and contributing new ideas
• Comfortable working in a changing environment and keen to grow with the business
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative approach
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and be able to travel to a rural site
