We now have an opportunity for an experienced Microsoft Software Developer to manage a small team of developers within our Digital Development team. You'll be working on one of our high profile energy schemes the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme is designed to encourage increased use of renewable fuels in heating and forms a key part of the UK's commitment to reducing carbon emissions. As the administrator of the scheme Ofgem is responsible for reviewing large volumes of applications to assess eligibility and manage payments to successful applicants. You'll help to rewrite the technology that supports the RHI scheme, drawing on new technologies such as azure, Micro services, kubernets and docker.
As well as having experience working with these tools, you will also need to have proven expertise in the following:
- Microsoft .NET (C#)
- SQL Server Development
- Net MVC
- Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Continuous Integration, build and deployment automation
Your technical skills should be supported by the ability to work well with different stakeholders, with varying degrees of technical knowledge. You should have previous experience of managing a team and be motivated by the opportunity to work in fast paced environment, on projects that continually evolve and change.
