Role Summary AmePower is seeking to hire a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to perform a key role in the design, development, and analysis for Power Modules and Static Converters mainly in the areas of Rail Traction and Auxiliary Power Supplies as well as Megawatt power Renewable Converters like Wind Energy. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and leading complex designs for power electronics circuits, magnetic components and control strategies. In this role, you will provide design support for new power conversion product developments and existing product upgrades. You will use appropriate electrical analyses to evaluate design options and to ensure that design requirements will be met; as well as assist in the construction and testing of prototypes and qualification test units. Responsibilities Lead specific product design efforts from concept to production. Analyze Traction Power Converter solutions for Trains. Perform detailed system analyses to evaluate power semiconductor devices for target applications. Define power semiconductors, optimize gate drivers and busbar designs. Perform high voltage (up to 4000 V) and high current ( up to 2000A) experiments. Validate the performance of the prototype for finalization of product. Ensure product/prototypes are fully documented. Provide engineering support to production. Assist in planning and testing new products for required compliance. Provide technical expertise for failure mode and root cause analysis. Document design reports, test results, and failure analysis. Support sales efforts in the development of new product concepts and customer proposals. Actively contribute to the company’s continual improvement of internal processes. Requirements Minimum BS degree with 6 years of related experience or Master’s Degree with 4 years experience or PhD Degree with 2 years experience (desirable) in Power Electronics. Experience in Rail Traction field will be a plus. Experience in design, analysis and development of IGBT based converters, associated control circuits, ac motor control algorithms and magnetics required. Qualifications and Skills Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to take the initiative and drive for results. Familiarity with simulation tools like Matlab/ PSpice/ LTspice. Familiarity with circuit simulation, finite element electromagnetic analysis, mechanical CAD and printed circuit board design software and tools. EMI/EMC Design and Testing Experience. Management experience of a small technical team of engineers and technicians. Ability to assist in the performance of both design evaluation/verification and qualification/validation testing of electronic and power electronic systems. Ability to troubleshoot existing designs and generating creative design improvements. Ability to perform analysis of test data and recommending design changes. Familiarity with interpretation of Standards like ANSI, IEEE, IEC, EN and FTA. Benefits Very Competitive Salary Compensation. Health, Vision and Dental Plan paid in full.
