The Company
Our client, is a successful operator in the environmental energy sector, they have an excellent opportunity to join them at their waste to energy processing site, as an Electrical & instrumentation Technician. The Role
• As the Electrical Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance of our clients electrical and instrumentation equipment installed at their Waste to Energy Plant,
• As the Electrical Maintenance Technician your role will provide an efficient breakdown repair service.
• You will diagnose faults and undertake with the team all planned preventative maintenance and when required be on call out duty.
• You will ensure equipment is consistently in good condition. Undertaking some basic mechanical work maybe required such as motor/coupling alignment, electrical equipment support structures, light lifting etc.
• You will liaise with external contractors inspecting and supervising any contracted work as directed by your supervisor.
•You will ensure all work is carried out to the highest level of health and safety.
The Successful Electrical Maintenance Technician
• The ideal Electrical Maintenance Technician will either be a time served engineer, or have a City & Guilds certificate (or equivalent) in Electrical maintenance Engineering.
* The Successful Electrical Maintenance Technician will have experience working in either the energy form waste sector or other complex industrial sectors.
* You will have experience of basic fault finding with PLC controllers and will have an understanding of basic functions and operation of Variable speed drives to identify faults.
* You will have experience of three phase and single phase on LV motors and equipment.
* You will have an understanding of HV systems, protection relays, safety requirement and be able to fix basic faults with HV switchgears.
* You will excellent communication skills and the ability to work positively in a team environment.
* Strong health and safety knowledge, IOSH preferably
* The ideal candidate will have a positive, cheery and can do personality and attitude.
