About the opportunity
A leading property management group is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team. This established organisation manages an impressive portfolio of commercial properties and shopping centres across the UK, providing a dynamic environment where your finance skills will be put to excellent use.

Working within a supportive finance department, you'll gain comprehensive experience across accounts payable functions within the real estate sector. The role offers excellent visibility across the business, allowing you to build relationships with different departments and develop a thorough understanding of property finance operations.
Key responsibilities
- Process and code high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match, batch and reconcile purchase orders, delivery notes and invoices
- Ensure all supplier invoices are authorised according to company policy
- Maintain accurate supplier records and handle queries professionally
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs via BACS, CHAPS or cheque
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Support month-end processes and financial reporting
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve invoice or payment-related issues
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an accounts payable or finance assistant role
- Experience in real estate/shopping centre finance preferred
- Good understanding of UK VAT and expense policies
- Proficiency with accounting software (Sage, Xero, Re-Leased)
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Well-organised with ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
