Our client is a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business based in Leeds. Due to continued growth and investment in their site, they are now looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical bias and mechanical knowledge to join their engineering team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, forward-thinking manufacturer where engineering plays a key role in maintaining high production standards and continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining production machinery and site equipment to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. The role will involve a combination of reactive breakdown support and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a variety of manufacturing equipment.

Roles & Responsibilities

Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, carrying out effective fault finding and repair.
Perform electrical fault finding on manufacturing equipment and control systems.
Support and complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules.
Assist with mechanical repairs and maintenance including bearings, motors, gearboxes and conveyors.
Work proactively to identify potential equipment failures and improve reliability.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Support continuous improvement and engineering projects where required.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
The Ideal Candidate

Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical understanding.
Previous experience working within a manufacturing or production environment.
Proven experience dealing with machine breakdowns and reactive maintenance.
Experience following and completing PPM schedules.
Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
Experience with PLC fault finding.
Multi-skilled maintenance background.
