As a global company of 50,000+ employees with over 500 contracts, Information Security is front and centre. At Serco, our InfoSec team work diligently to ensure the security of ours and our customers systems, data and information. As the InfoSec and Data Protection lead for Defence & Europe, you will provide expert advice on data protection matters including assessing information risk and developing and implementing effective strategies.

In this newly created position, you’ll use your knowledge and experience to ensure all InfoSec management and data protection risks are recorded, reviewed, and managed to an acceptable level and provide accountability on data protection frameworks and matters. Day to day you will provide support and guidance on information security management and data protection matters, particularly implications of new services and technologies in support of data protection impact assessments.

What you’ll need to do the role

Firstly, you’ll need a demonstrable background in information security and data protection with a good understanding of information governance frameworks and of best practice in the field of data protection and information sharing. You’ll be aware of current and emerging information security, data protection and cyber risks, and innovative risk management methods.

IT skills are important as is the ability to interpret technical solutions to ensure the risks are identified and appropriate controls and safeguards applied. Lastly, knowledge of the operational sectors of Defence & Europe is vitally important.
