Project Manager - Acoustic Enclosures & Heavy Fabrication

About Hartwell

Hartwell Manufacturing is a family-run engineering business with nearly 50 years of experience delivering high-quality acoustic enclosures and heavy steel fabrication projects. From our Ossett headquarters, we support clients in the power, data centre and industrial sectors with engineered solutions built on precision, collaboration and reliability. The culture is hands-on, team-focused and proud of the work we produce.

The Role

We're looking for a Project Manager to oversee live acoustic enclosure and fabrication projects from order through to completion. This is an on-site, client-facing role where you'll coordinate internal teams, plan each stage of delivery and keep projects moving with clarity and purpose.

You'll be the link between customers, engineering and production, ensuring specifications are met, issues are resolved early and communication stays sharp. The role sits within the management team, influencing delivery standards and continuous improvement across the business. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

*

Lead multiple live projects, ensuring each one is delivered safely, on time and to the level of quality Hartwell is known for.

*

Build and manage detailed project schedules, coordinating engineering, fabrication, fit-out, assembly, procurement and installation activities.

*

Act as the main point of contact for clients, giving clear, confident updates and maintaining strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.

*

Identify risks early, resolve issues quickly and keep momentum high across teams.

*

Uphold Hartwell's strict quality and safety standards across all stages of delivery.

*

Take ownership of project outcomes and drive a culture of “right-first-time” execution.

What We're Looking For

*

10 years+ proven project management experience in fabrication, steelwork, mechanical engineering or related technical environments.

*

A strong character with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities.

*

Clear, confident communicator who builds trust across clients, engineers, suppliers and shop-floor teams.

*

Proactive problem-solver who stays composed, practical and focused when challenges appear.

*

Collaborative approach to leadership, working closely with others to achieve predictable, high-quality results.

*

Pride in delivering consistent quality and in creating a positive experience for clients and colleagues
