Flexion is currently seeking a Senior Data Scientist for a direct hirefull-time employee role with our client in Minneapolis, MN. As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll take the lead applying innovative statistical and machine learning methods in a scientifically rigorous manner to dive into the largest and most complex data across the enterprise to answer the most difficult questions that are foundational to driving real-world value by offering deep insight into every aspect of the business. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be involved in the most important strategic efforts to provide analytic thought leadership that drives a data-grounded perspective to help our client think critically and differently about all aspects of our business to improve our core capabilities and unleash the next generation of customer experiences that will transform the way our client operates day-to-day. Duties Applying scientific methods to solve real-world business problems using data Utilizing cutting edge statistical and machine learning methods to dig deep into complex data to deliver data-driven solutions across all areas of the business including inventory optimization, supply chain, marketing, healthcare, cybersecurity, etc Employing broad and deep knowledge of statistics, analytics, and machine learning to contribute to and enhance core data science capabilities Working with business partners to identify the biggest opportunities to bring our client to the next level and influence key decisions around real products that impact and improve the lives of millions of people Required Skills Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, etc) or equivalent experience. Strong understanding of at least one focus area of data science (e.g. statistics, operations research, design and analysis of experiments, machine learning, quantitative analysis, etc) Strong data mining skills with ability to leverage distributed processing to scale to big data Fluency with at least one data scienceanalytics programming language (e.g. Python, R, Julia) 4 years of experience in data science, data analysis, data mining or other similar business functions. Advanced degrees in relevant fields may be counted towards experience requirements. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree or Ph.D in a highly quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, Operations Research, etc) Experience using high performance machine learning andor data mining frameworks Experience building distributed data processing pipelines (e.g. Apache Spark, Apache Beam) Ability to effectively communicate technical information to a wide spectrum of cross-functional team members Equal Employment OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer
