Reeson Education is working closely with a unique and well-resourced SEN school in the SK16 postcode of Tameside to recruit an experienced and adaptable English Teacher. This is a permanent opportunity, with the school offering a direct contract for the successful English Teacher to start immediately.
The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with a wide range of additional needs, including SEMH, ADHD, behavioural challenges, anxiety, and other complex learning difficulties. Class sizes are small, with no more than six pupils per group, giving the English Teacher the ability to provide highly personalised and impactful lessons.
The school environment is supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking, with excellent facilities to allow the English Teacher to bring creativity and flexibility into the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate English Teacher who is confident in adapting the UK curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
As an English Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons tailored to EHCPs and individual learning styles
- Work closely with TAs and support staff to deliver a consistent, structured classroom environment
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress
- Use a dynamic and adaptable approach to meet the needs of SEMH, ADHD, and behavioural challenges
- Manage behaviour effectively and promote emotional regulation and resilience
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, contributing to reviews and ongoing planning
- Be committed to the long-term development and success of the pupils you teach
We are looking for an English Teacher who:
- Holds QTS - this is essential, non-QTS will not be considered
- Has experience teaching English in the UK and with the UK curriculum
- Is passionate about working in SEN and supporting vulnerable learners
- Brings creativity, resilience, and adaptability to their teaching practice
- Can confidently deliver English lessons to pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and behavioural challenges
This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for an English Teacher to secure a permanent role in a specialist setting where small classes, excellent resources, and a supportive team will allow you to make a lasting impact.
If you are an English Teacher ready to take on this challenge and help transform outcomes for pupils, we would love to hear from you.
