Responsibilities of this role:
- Provide strong operational and practice leadership to the Children in Care team, ensuring high-quality, child-centred social work for all looked-after children.
- Oversee care planning, ensuring permanence plans are timely, legally compliant, and focused on achieving stability and the best possible outcomes.
- Offer reflective supervision, coaching, and professional development to Social Workers and Senior Practitioners, driving high standards of practice.
- Monitor and manage caseloads, ensuring all statutory visits, reviews, assessments, and plans are completed within required timescales.
- Work collaboratively with IROs, foster carers, residential providers, health, education, and other partners to ensure coordinated, multi-agency support for children.
- Provide management oversight of court work, care plans, and key decision-making, ensuring practice is evidence-based and defensible.
- Use performance data, audits, and quality assurance activity to identify strengths and areas for improvement, embedding a culture of continuous learning.
- Promote participation and ensure the voice of the child shapes planning, reviews, and service development.
Requirements of this role:
- Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
- Must have minimum of 3 years post qualifying social work experience
