Programmed Work Caretaker

- Job Type: Temporary (Approximately 6 months)
Join our team as a Programmed Work Caretaker, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of housing properties to meet or exceed the agreed standards. This position is integral to our Estate Services Team, dedicated to delivering customer-focused services.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Engage in cleaning activities both internally and externally across council estates, ensuring all areas meet the specified standards.
- Remove bulky items and address fly-tipping issues, as well as perform deep cleaning tasks including bin areas and graffiti removal.
- Conduct window cleaning for communal areas up to the third floor as per the scheduled program.
- Operate light goods vehicles and manage the day-to-day operation of vehicles and machinery to ensure effective service delivery.
- Collaborate with various teams and external contacts including contractors and utility companies to enhance service delivery.
- Report environmental issues and engage with internal and external services to assist in the prevention of fly-tipping, graffiti, and anti-social behaviour.
- Participate in training sessions and contribute to the ongoing development and monitoring of service plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- A reasonable level of literacy and numeracy.
- Valid clean UK driving licence.
- Experience in a service delivery environment, preferably within the public sector.
- Basic cleaning skills and familiarity with Health & Safety requirements related to COSHH and Risk Assessment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Physical ability to perform demanding tasks including lifting heavy weights.
- Comfortable using technology such as mobile devices for work-related tasks.
