You'll play a key part in keeping cases moving forward efficiently and compliantly, all while maintaining a strong safeguarding focus and delivering a high standard of support to both colleagues and vulnerable clients.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the day-to-day conduct of cases, including preparing and filing court documents in line with the Family Procedure Rules
Managing court timetables, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance with directions
Drafting attendance notes, correspondence, and instructions to counsel and experts
Liaising with local authorities, CAFCASS, the courts, and other key stakeholders
Communicating with vulnerable clients in a sensitive, trauma-informed manner, taking instructions and managing expectations
Collating and reviewing evidence, and preparing court bundles in line with procedural requirements
Assisting with Legal Aid applications and ensuring ongoing compliance with LAA requirements
Maintaining well-organised, audit-ready files in line with regulatory standards
You'll also be supported to build your knowledge of child protection law and develop your career within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.

About You

A genuine interest in public children law and safeguarding
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work sensitively with vulnerable clients
Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
A proactive and team-oriented approach
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential.

The Opportunity

Clear progression route to qualification as a Child Care Solicitor
Long-term development towards Children Panel membership
Hands-on experience in complex and meaningful legal work
Supportive and collaborative working environment
