The Best Connection is currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join a busy and well-established manufacturing environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced operator looking to work within a skilled engineering setting.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting up and operating a range of finishing equipment, including cylindrical, surface, and polishing machines, ensuring components are finished to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting and operating cylindrical, surface, and polishing machines
- Finishing components to specification
- Inspecting parts before and after processing
- Carrying out routine operator maintenance
- Applying knowledge of factors affecting coating quality
- Following "check-work-check" procedures
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards (5S)
- Supporting team members where required
- Working safely and following all health & safety guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience with manual cylindrical and surface grinding machines
- Experience working with tungsten carbide coatings
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Competent using measuring equipment and inspection techniques
- Detail-focused with a proactive attitude
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 - 16:00
