A fast-paced leisure group based in the Portsmouth area are seeking to recruit a Financial Accountant.

The finance function plays an instrumental role in business performance, working closely and supporting the wider organisation.

The Financial Accountant Role

Working within a small team of 4–5 people, the financial accountant role will play a key part in the month-end process, reconciliations, and financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journals
• Perform intercompany reconciliations
• Manage sales invoicing processes
• Review and monitor aged debtors and aged creditors
• Oversee the purchase ledger function, including credit card reconciliations
• Prepare VAT returns
• Support the year-end audit process

About You

Essential:

• Experience in an Accounts Assistant, Management Accountant or Financial Accountant role
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel

Desirable:

• Part-qualified or qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA
• Working knowledge of Sage 200 or Xero
