SF Recruitment are working with a rapidly growing, market leading manufacturing business in Wolverhampton to recruit a Supply Chain Planner.

We are seeking an experienced planning professional to take ownership of end-to-end production scheduling and materials coordination within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This position plays a critical role in safeguarding on-time delivery by ensuring production plans are aligned to capacity, customer demand and material availability. The successful candidate will develop forward-looking replenishment strategies, maintain stock integrity and drive operational efficiency across the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed daily and weekly manufacturing schedules in line with customer requirements and agreed delivery targets.
  • Balance workload against capacity to minimise bottlenecks and maximise output.
  • Plan and control the flow of raw materials and components to support production demand.
  • Align inbound supply with forecasted volumes to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • Act as the central point of contact between planning, procurement, engineering, warehousing, logistics and customer-facing teams.
  • Work closely with external suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and mitigate potential risks.
  • Maintain and review demand forecasts, assessing impact on capacity and communicating changes proactively.
  • Support medium and long-term planning to ensure operational readiness.
  • Monitor finished goods and raw material stock levels, ensuring high levels of system accuracy.
  • Support cycle counting and inventory control processes.
  • Utilise ERP/MRP platform to manage planning data, material requirements and purchase order activity.
  • Ensure system integrity and accurate data inputs to support decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflow, reduce waste and strengthen planning accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the production and supply chain function.

Requirements

  • Strong background in material, supply or production planning within a manufacturing setting.
  • Confident analysing complex data sets to drive informed planning decisions.
  • Experienced in managing planning challenges such as supply disruption or capacity constraints.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a time-sensitive, high-output environment.
  • Advanced ERP/MRP knowledge .
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Detail-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
