Air Freight Assistant

Location: Slough Type: Permanent, Full-TimeHours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PMSalary: £30,000 per annum

• Managing air freight shipments from origin to destination
• Coordinating with overseas agents, internal teams, and UK clients
• Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws
• Preparing accurate quotations and negotiating rates with carriers
• Handling export documentation and customs declarations
• Monitoring shipment progress and providing timely updates
• Supporting internal departments and assisting with holiday cover
• Identifying workflow improvements and contributing to operational efficiency
• Managing insurance processes and claims
• Maintaining accurate records and using internal systems effectively

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in freight forwarding, ideally in air freight
• Strong understanding of import/export procedures and INCOTERMS
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable with working hours
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
