My well-established Engineering client based close to Caversham is looking to recruit a Trainee Machine Setter initially on a permanent basis. Candidates must be experienced in machine operating and looking to take a step up to setting.

Candidates will ideally have previous engineering / manufacturing experience (ideally with CNC) and be familiar with engineering practices, machine health & safety and equipment, hand tools and measuring equipment (vernier calipers etc). Any experience of sheet metal and processes would be very welcome.

Main Duties:

* To set and operate CNC perforating presses

* To deputise when required for shift team leader

* To produce quality parts at output targets

* To carry out checks in line with ISO procedures

* Ensure quality standards are met and high standards of housekeeping are maintained

* To drive a continual improvement culture within the team

* Attend other meetings and generate ideas for improvements

* To work as part of team

Experience:

* Manufacturing with a mechanical background

* Numerate and literate

* Able to read technical drawings

* Able to use measuring equipment (micrometres/verniers)

* PC literate

The role is offered on a double day shift, working 06.00 - 14.00 / 14.00 - 22.00 which will rotate weekly.

An attractive hourly rate of £14.50 - 17.50 per hour is available depending on skill level.

In addition, my client offer an attractive bonus / PRP which would add an additional 20-25% of salary paid monthly and quarterly.
