Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Inspection Supervisor / Chief Inspector to lead and develop our team of 18 Inspectors operating across various shift patterns. This pivotal role involves providing operational support and expertise in all aspects of inspection practices, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives. The position is primarily based in Rotherham, with some travel to the businesses other facility locally.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the Inspection team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

*

Quality Assurance: Oversee all manufacturing quality-related matters, ensuring compliance with the Business Management System and corporate objectives.

*

SPC Implementation: Develop and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) processes across all facilities to monitor and improve product quality.

*

Root Cause Analysis: Evaluate all product rejects, conduct root cause analyses, and implement effective corrective actions.

*

CMM Programming: Develop and maintain both online and offline programming software for Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), ensuring accurate and efficient measurement processes.

Metrology Support: Facilitate and support metrology aspects in the drive towards process automation and technological advancement.

*

Inspection Continuity: Ensure the smooth operation and continuity of the Inspection Department, addressing any issues promptly.

*

Training & Development: Provide comprehensive training to Inspection team members on all forms of measuring equipment, promoting skill enhancement and versatility.

*

Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant Health & Safety regulations, risk management protocols, and operational policies, ensuring a safe working environment.

*

Additional Duties: Undertake any other responsibilities as required, contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

*

Proven experience in a quality inspection or quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.

*

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team.

*

Proficiency in SPC methodologies and CMM programming

*

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

*

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

*
