Assistant Shift Operator - Energy from Waste

Intro

TRG are currently recruiting an Assistant Shift Operator to join the operations team of a 10MW Energy from Waste power station in Bridgwater.

As the APO you will support the safe and efficient running of the plant, carrying out operational and maintenance duties ensuring the plant hits its production targets in a safe and compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist the Shift Operator in the safe and efficient operation of boilers, turbines, and plant systems

* Perform plant routine inspections, plant checks, and basic first line maintenance work to minimise plant breakdowns

* Undertake fuel reception duties when required operating a range of mobile plant equipment such as forklift trucks, excavators and overhead crane

* Overseeing the delivery of consumables such as lime, ammonia, carbon etc

* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

* Provide thorough shift handovers and support emergency procedures

What We're Looking For

* Operations and/or maintenance experience in a similar heavy process industry - waste management, renewable energy, paper mill, CHP or engineering experience gained in the military (Navy, RAF, Army etc)

* An engineering qualification such as NVQ, City & Guilds etc is desirable

* Any mobile plant experience or tickets is desirable e.g. FLT, excavator, loading shovel etc

* Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

* Computer literate and able to follow safety procedures

* Willingness to work on a 12 hour shift pattern that includes days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
