I have started working on a new role with a reputable Engineering business in the North Manchester area and am looking for a Supply Chain/Procurement Manager. This is also open to any Senior Buyers looking to take a step up in their career.

An established Engineering business on a site with 75+ staff and a range of specialisms which cover a number of industries. The business are currently underway with a growth plan which will see them develop new and innovative products to offer to their growing customer base.

Job Overview: Supply Chain/Procurement Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain/Procurement Manager to join our dynamic team. This newly created role is vital in supporting our business growth plans over the next 3-5 years. As the Supply Chain/Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in improving our operational efficiency, supplier management, and strategic procurement processes.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

* Suppliers: Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers based on cost, quality, risk, and delivery criteria.

* Procurement: Lead contract negotiations and payment terms, create agreements, and ensure supplier contracts meet compliance guidelines. Manage supplier portfolio, evaluate supplier performance, and implement risk management strategies.

* Operations: Oversee inventory management, stock reduction, warehousing, transportation, and order fulfillment. Ensure smooth operation of the ERP system.

* Demand Planning & Forecasting: Develop and manage scheduling plans to control future demand, conduct forecasting, and optimize inventory levels to minimize stockout, obsolescence, and excess stock.

* Management & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with departments to develop internal purchasing processes, analyse global purchasing and commodity markets, maintain suppliers' master data, drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis, and provide people management support.

Experience:

* Proven experience in Purchasing/Buying/Supply Chain Management or as a Senior Buyer ready to take the next step.

* Previous experience in a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.

* Demonstrated management experience, leading professional employees.

* CIPS qualification and/or significant Supply Chain management experience.

* Track record of delivering target improvements, cost savings, process enhancements, and aligning strategic plans.
