Salary: £20000 - £21000 per annum + 10% bonus

Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Transport Administrator for a 9 month contract - this is very likely to go permanent. The successful candidate will be capable of managing customer enquiries and delivery requests, ensuring customer agreed service times are met and drivers have allocated work for each day.

Although this is a 9-month contract to start, if you are doing well, you will very likely be offered a permanent role as well as other opportunities within the business.

Transport Administrator Benefits:

  • Salary of £21,000, with a pay review in January 2023 as well as bonus paid in April.

Transport Administrator Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily customer confirmations - confirming all deliveries are still required and ensuring there are no site restrictions.
  • Confirmations are to be complete 48 hours prior to delivery.
  • Responding to all telephone and email transport customer service queries.
  • Coordinating all ETA and POD customer responses, ensuring all are linked to relevant orders.
  • Daily interaction with haulers regarding customer deliveries.
  • Coordinating redeliveries following turned away orders for both internal and external reasons.
  • Ensuring that storage charges are applied to all delayed customer orders.
  • Weekly monitoring of the yard list to ensure goods are delivered to site as quickly as possible.
  • Daily interaction with transport planning to ensure all deliveries are met to customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that storage charges, yard list updates and OTIF's are reported on a weekly basis.
  • Liaise with aftercare when applicable.

Essential Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience within a manufacturing, engineering, or construction Administrative or Customer Service environment
  • Experience of arranging deliveries/ dispatch
  • Able to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong communication both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of SAP is very desirable
