The Role
In response to the continued growth and evolving demands of the LGPS sector, they are recruiting for a Finance Manager - one of two such roles within their finance function. Reporting to the Head of Finance and Accountancy, you will lead a small team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial services to senior stakeholders.
This is a critical leadership role that combines financial rigour with strategic insight. You will manage their operational accounts, shape budgets, enhance financial reporting, and support robust risk management. You’ll also work closely with your fellow Finance Manager to provide cross-cover and ensure consistency across our operations.
What You’ll Bring
You’re a qualified finance professional with a strong understanding of the LGPS and a track record of producing complex financial reports under IFRS (CIPFA Code), including investment accounting. You’re confident working with large datasets and can translate complex financial information into meaningful insights.

What they’re looking for
Qualifications
- Full membership of a CCAB body (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ongoing CPD Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
Essential Experience
- Significant experience producing statutory accounts under IFRS (CIPFA code), including investment accounting
- Previous experience in a similar role within the LGPS
- Strong understanding of LGPS policy context, challenges, and future direction
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
