Level 2 KS2 TA / Key Stage 2 teaching Assistant
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Level 2 or 3 KS2 TA / Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant in an outstanding Primary school in Rotherham. Do you hold a Level 2 or 3 NVQ certificate in Children's Learning and Development or equivalent? Are you confident and passionate in teaching literacy and numeracy to KS2 pupils? Do you work brilliantly independently and as part of a team?
The post will start around at the beginning of April in the S65 area. You will need to be able to form positive and caring relationships with children, have a sound knowledge of the expectations of the National Curriculum, be able to identify and implement strategies to support learning, understand how to assess pupil's progress and identify next steps, be committed to being part of a dedicated, friendly, passionate team.
You will be covering right up till the end of the academic year, support the class teacher with whole class support and working with targeted small groups to help fill in any gaps of learning. There are no significant needs within the class, other than what is normally expected in terms of SEND and EAL. However, the school is in a lower socio-economic area and has a large percentage of pupil premium children, with some displaying challenging behaviour, however nonviolent.
The Head Teacher is looking for someone with excellent classroom management, who teaches with an enthusiastic and nurturing approach and has high expectations of learning. Experience within Y6 is not necessary. You will be working alongside a fantastic key stage team who are highly supportive who love exciting and new faces.
You will be required to support small groups to help with booster sessions as well as a small amount of 1:1 support however this will be sporadic due to moving around classes in the key stage depending on where the extra support is needed due to the diverse nature of the school.
The school is seeking to appoint a strong, exciting and experienced KS2 TA / Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant to support a vibrant year 6 class.
