Job Title: Patient Bank Administrator

Location: Parklands Hospital, Aldermaston Road, Basingstoke, RG24 9RH

Hours: 16 hours per week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 9.00am - 1.00pm

Trust Location: Hampshire & Isle of White NHS Foundation Trust

Role type: Temporary for 6 months with possibility of extension

What you'll be responsible for:

· To provide and maintain an efficient banking and administration service for the trust long term patients, to open accounts for patients if required and to be responsible for crediting/debiting each patient's account.

· Receive all income from various sources including patients, cash registers, telephones, other departments, wards and relatives. To keep accurate records and to ensure all income is banked twice a week

· Responsible for receiving and returning patients' property ensuring proper security procedures at all times

· Provide facilities for the cashing of patients' giros, paying of patients' fares and the petty cash

· Maintain the computer accounts

This role may require you to show evidence of vocational level 3 qualification or at least 2 years relevant experience.

You'll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

1. An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times

3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation

You'll have the following skills/experience:

· Maths qualification NVQ Level 2

· Strong attention to detail

· NHS experience (desirable)

· Ability to prioritise workload

· Competent with Microsoft office programmes including basic Excel skills
