Associate Director or Senior Building surveyor opportunity with a growing SME consultancy.

As an Associate Director / Building surveyor you are expected to be able to deliver all the Building Surveying services to our clients in a timely and professional manner and represent the consultancy in front of their clients and other members of the project team.

Practice areas will include building surveys for investment and occupations purposes, dilapidations, contract administration, refurbishment works and maintenance advice (PPM), development monitoring and behalf of Funders, and project management work.

Associate Director - Building Surveyor Detailed Job Specification

You will be expected to undertake the following:

* Coordinate and deliver large portfolios of Reinstatement Cost Assessments, which involve determining the estimated cost of rebuilding a property in case of damage or destruction.

* Conduct inspections of buildings, assess their condition, and prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations.

* Undertake all areas of contract administration, preparing specifications for repair and refurbishment contracts and administer these contracts ensuring work is carried out in accordance with agreed terms.

* Prepare and negotiate schedules of dilapidations, which outline necessary repairs or refurbishments required at the end of a lease term.

* Develop plans for scheduled maintenance to ensure the long-term integrity and functionality of buildings.

* Undertake assessments to estimate the cost of reinstating a building to its original condition, often for insurance purposes.

* Assist in coordinating portfolio instructions and collaborate with various internal departments to provide comprehensive services to clients.

* Build and maintain strong business relationships with both new and existing clients, offering both a professional and timely client service.

* Work in compliance with Quality Management Procedures.

* Advise on and maintain high levels of health and safety regulations.

Building surveyor Additional Requirements

You will also be required to do the following as part of your role:

* Be MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) certified with a specialisation in building surveying, along with proven experience.

* Have the ability to work effectively within a team and independently, demonstrating enthusiasm, proactivity, and self-motivation.

* Be well-presented, with excellent presentation skills, reflecting a professional and client-focused demeanour.

* Organise and prioritise tasks so that they are completed within an agreed timeframe.

* Understand professional and project-based building surveying matters, and the basics of the local and wider property market and the company's services.

* Assist the directors, your manager and the company's business development manager with marketing the business, promoting the business and winning work for the business. It is expected that Associates should be bringing in around 3 new projects per year to the business through direct relationships and business development throughout the year along with repeat work from projects undertaken for existing clients.

* Be open to travel as required by the role, both nationally and internationally and engage in business development activities, such as attending functions, drinks, lunches etc in conjunction with directors and business development manager where appropriate.
