A well-established and steadily growing accountancy practice based in Cleckheaton is seeking a Semi Senior Accountant to join their close-knit and professional team of 35 staff. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and supporting the wider team in the delivery of key accounting services. Candidates will be involved in preparing statutory and management accounts, VAT returns, and working with clients that report under both FRS 105 and FRS 102 standards. The role offers exposure to a mix of responsibilities across accounts production, client liaison, and involvement in audit or tax, depending on experience.

Semi Senior Accountant Job Overview

Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
Completion and submission of VAT returns
Assisting with or leading on small audits (desirable, not essential)

Semi Senior Accountant Job Requirements

Part-qualified AAT/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience
Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice (minimum 2 years preferred)
Knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105 frameworks
Proficient in accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, or similar
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients and colleagues effectively
Team-oriented with the ability to take initiative and responsibility for your workload

Semi Senior Accountant Salary & Benefits

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000, dependent on experience
Working hours: 9am- 5pm with half an hour lunch break (37.5 hours a week)
26 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays - including Christmas shutdown
