Ashton Recruitment are hiring a Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver for our client based in Belfast, our client offers a great working environment. This position will be full time with a view of becoming permanent after 12 weeks probationary period.

Position: Warehouse Operative/ Forklift Driver

Location: Belfast

Duration: Temporary to Permanent

Rate of Pay: £13.25 per hour

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 5pm with a 45 min break each day, Friday 8:30am to 4pm Finish with 1 hour break

Duties will include (but not limited to):

• Safely operate forklifts (e.g., counterbalance or reach trucks) to load and unload metal products like aluminium, brass, bronze, copper, and engineering plastics from delivery vehicles.
• Select and prepare materials based on customer orders-this may involve cutting metal to size, wrapping, and securely packing for dispatch.
• Store products in appropriate warehouse locations and assist in stock rotation, cycle counting, and inventory checks.
• Follow health and safety procedures rigorously, ensuring all handling of materials complies with company and industry standards.
• Keep work areas clean and organised, ensuring efficient and safe movement within the warehouse.
• Work closely with logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Essential Criteria:

• Valid forklift licence (typically counterbalance or reach)
• Experience working in a metal stockholding or heavy materials environment is advantageous
• Good attention to detail and ability to read job sheets or material specifications
• Physically fit and capable of handling large, heavy materials
