As Operations Manager, you'll be accountable for the successful operational delivery of contracts across your region. You will ensure your teams perform to the highest standards while maintaining positive, proactive partnerships with our clients.

Our client is a well known Social Housing contractor with an enviable portfolio of contracts and clients. Looking for an Ops Manager to join their Midlands Business Unit.

Description

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary day-to-day contact for our social housing clients, building strong, credible, and transparent relationships.
  • Attend client meetings, performance reviews, and contract updates-presenting clear solutions, data, and action plans.
  • Understand client priorities, pressures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring our service aligns with their expectations.
  • Proactively manage issues before they escalate, ensuring clients feel supported and well-informed.

Operational Delivery

  • Lead repairs, maintenance, planned works, and voids services to meet contractual KPIs and service standards.
  • Oversee supervisors, operatives, and supply chain partners, ensuring workflows are well-organised and productive.
  • Drive high-quality workmanship, ensuring every job complies with safety, quality, and time expectations.

People Leadership

  • Motivate, coach, and develop your team, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and pride in service delivery.
  • Ensure all colleagues feel engaged, supported, and equipped to deliver an excellent resident experience.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, building safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Promote a zero-harm culture and lead by example in ensuring safe working practices across all sites.

Commercial & Performance Management

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, productivity, and resource planning.
  • Analyse performance trends and develop improvement strategies that maximise value for both the contractor and client.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met and service improvements are continually identified and acted upon.

Profile

  • Proven experience as an Operations Manager (or similar) in social housing, property services, or repairs & maintenance.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with housing providers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make decisions that balance resident needs, operational demands, and client expectations.
  • A people-focused leader who inspires high performance and a positive culture.
  • Experience working in a KPI-driven, compliance-heavy environment.
