  • Shifts: 3 week rolling rota basis, days 7am-3pm, lates 2pm-10pm, sleepovers 9pm-7am

We are currently seeking a dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to support children and young people up to the age of 21 in a beautifully maintained children’s home designed for up to four residents. This home offers the perfect environment to help young people feel part of the local community while receiving care in a nurturing and therapeutic setting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as a mentor and advocate for children and young people, supporting their care, emotional, and developmental needs.
  • Build genuine, trusting relationships and support individuals in overcoming challenges, developing life skills, and achieving their goals.
  • Engage in care planning, assessments, and key-working.
  • Promote relational health using the P.A.C.E. approach (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).
  • Help children feel included, heard, and empowered.
  • Work flexibly, including sleepovers, as part of a rota.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • HNC Social Care and SVQ Level 3.
  • UK experience in a children's home.
  • Strong communication and IT skills.
  • A full manual driving licence - there will be outings!
  • Willingness to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
