Pyrotechnic Assembly Operative

A globally recognised aerospace manufacturer in Chalgrove is looking for an Assembly Operative to join its pyrotechnics team. You'll be assembling cartridges and rocket motors for aviation safety systems - detailed, regulated work with explosive materials in a safety-critical environment where precision and compliance are non-negotiable.

What you'll be doing:

Assembling pyrotechnic components to engineering drawings and work instructions

Using weighing equipment and specialist tooling to achieve precise tolerances

Handling explosive materials safely in line with mandatory procedures

Identifying part numbers, drawing issues, and batch details accurately

Maintaining and monitoring tools and equipment to ensure safe operation

Updating SAP to record work in progress and maintain traceability

Ensuring all work meets quality standards and explosives compliance requirements

Contributing to housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe working environment

What you need:

Production or manufacturing background

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (training provided)

Strong attention to detail and ability to work to precise tolerances

Understanding of H&S policies and procedures

Basic IT and SAP skills

Good communication skills and a proactive approach

GCSE grades D-G or equivalent

Experience with explosives or pyrotechnic assembly is beneficial, but full training will be provided to the right candidate with a solid manufacturing background.

Days: 08:00-16:45 Mon-Thu / 08:00-12:00 Fri
