Overall Job Objective

Together with the Head of ABL and the ABL Director the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the Asset Based Lending desk within the company. The ABL team originates and executes financing opportunities, alongside managing the Client relationships within the company. The team works in close cooperation with a team based in Paris. As such, the role will involve some regular trips to Paris.

Products and solutions offered revolve around providing working capital financing against companies' assets (receivables, inventory, plant & equipment, and real estate) in various countries (mainly UK and Europe). Examples of structures include, cross border receivables solutions, comprehensive ABL structures, off-balance sheet lends (Receivables Purchase), or a combination of these. The company will offer both bilateral financings as well as club/syndicated deals with or without the agent bank role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is to support the Head of Asset Based Lending and the ABL Director in the ongoing management of the growing portfolio of customers and assist with the structuring, negotiating and execution of ABL new business opportunities. Responsibilities include assisting with new business origination activity and development of the company ABL name in the wider market. Acknowledging that company ABL offering is in its infancy, the role will be varied in nature, with the successful candidate having a desire to support on all areas of the business.

The Assistant Manager has the following responsibilities:

* Assisting with the ongoing monitoring and management of the Asset Based Lending portfolio

* Managing the client relationship from both a commercial and a risk perspective

* Assisting with the Origination of New Business Opportunities, including carrying out first stage analysis and discussing within the team the merits and risks of an opportunity

* Performing an in-depth credit and structure analysis including review of financial information, financial models, various financial and commercial due diligences, internal rating tools, deep asset analysis

* Assist with the writing the structuring paper and internal credit proposal

* Assist in the presenting Credit Applications (Portfolio and New Business opportunities) in credit committees

* Assisting the deal team with the transaction and contribute to driving a successful outcome

* Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in order to facilitate new business

* Ensuring Prospect/Client satisfaction by seeking feedback

* Contributing to the team income target

* Assist with the prospecting and generating new leads for the team

* Creating and fostering relationships with introducers of business

* Attending pipeline calls, management meetings and other similar events

* Designing and preparing marketing material and commercial proposals

* Contributing to the teams PR, including attendance to conferences, round tables, articles, press releases, communication on social medias and company website

Skills & Experience

* Required level & content of education: University degree, ideally in Economics, Finance, Accounting of Business Law

* Any other professional qualifications would be a plus including ABL, LMA, accounting, banking, CFA and project management

* Ideally 3-5 years of relevant sector experience

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ideally one other language apart from English

* Analytical skills and financial acumen

* Self-starter, autonomous, problem solver, focused on timely execution

* Positive and flexible mind set, enjoys collaboration and team work

* Enjoys working in a high intensity and competitive environment

* Required employment experience / skills Previous experience in origination, structuring and / or relationship management of Corporate ABL, Leverage Finance, Advisory or Corporate Lending would be a requirement

* Network of Introducers, Debt Advisors and other relationships in the ABL sector would be ideal but not mandatory
