Senior Design Engineer

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

We're looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join a leading performance engineering business near Leamington Spa. This is a permanent role, offering the chance to work on cutting-edge transmission and driveline projects across automotive and motorsport.

Senior Design Engineer Duties:
Produce detailed mechanical designs, stress calculations, FMEAs, 2D layouts, and tolerance stacks

Carry out FEA analysis, shaft and bearing analysis, and gear data specification

Select materials and define manufacturing processes

Design casings and castings with Creo Simulate (or similar)

Produce technical reports and documentation

Support manufacturing and assembly during first-off builds

Liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal operations to resolve technical queries

Provide design support for global projects

Senior Design Engineer Profile:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Experience in automotive, motorsport, or performance engineering environments

Strong knowledge of transmission systems

Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo preferred, Catia/NX also considered)

High competency in 2D drawings and GD&T

Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)

Understanding of modern manufacturing methods and FEA techniques

Flexible and capable of working to tight deadlines

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Desirable: Knowledge of gear geometry, casting methods, additive manufacturing, eMobility drivetrains, and hydraulic circuits.
