£45,000 - £48,000 OTE Competitive Salary (uncapped)

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 17:30 (30-minute lunch break)

The Role

We are looking for a Workshop Controller to manage and coordinate the work in a busy dealership workshop. You will assign jobs to vehicle technicians, work closely with other departments, and ensure all work is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assign jobs to technicians and apprentices and oversee their work.

* Ensure quality and compliance with manufacturer policies, DVSA, health & safety, and company standards.

* Help generate profit for the dealership.

* Support and coach the workshop team to meet targets and objectives.

* Work with other departments to deliver a smooth service experience for customers.

* Schedule work efficiently, taking into account job complexity, parts availability, and customer needs.

* Provide service and repair estimates with clear timescales.

* Assist technicians with technical challenges and problem-solving.

Skills required:

* Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ (or equivalent).

* Experience in the automotive industry, especially in workshop control or as a technician.

* Strong organisational and leadership skills; able to motivate and delegate.

* Good IT and communication skills.

* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
