Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to play a key role in high-profile fabrication projects of national importance. This role offers the chance to influence complex engineering activities while working alongside experienced professionals in a large, advanced fabrication environment.

The Role

As a Project Engineer, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of pre-planned fabrication projects. Working closely with the Project Manager and fabrication teams, you will ensure technical specifications, resources and schedules are aligned for successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Develop detailed project plans including schedules, resource allocation and budget considerations

*

Provide technical guidance by reviewing and refining engineering drawings and specifications

*

Coordinate materials, tools and equipment required for fabrication activities

*

Monitor, maintain and report on project progress, performance and financial status

*

Identify potential project bottlenecks and implement corrective actions

*

Complete all associated project documentation and support project close-out processes, including wash-up meetings

About the Working Environment

You will be based within a large-scale fabrication facility featuring:

A high-bay construction hall for new builds

*

A panel line, profile cutting and sub-assembly areas

*

A fully integrated in-house capability allowing for tight project control and close collaboration with clients

What We're Looking For

*

Proficiency in MS Office and project planning tools (e.g., MS Project)

*

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

*

Experience within engineering, structural engineering, shipbuilding, or a related heavy-fabrication environment

*

HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline

*

Commercial awareness and understanding of project management principles
