SALARY: £32,236 to £39,609 per annum, depending on relevant experience

The University of Manchester is the largest single-site university in the UK. The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is one of 11 schools in the Faculty of Science and Engineering. As one of the largest schools of its type in the UK, it possesses proven strength and depth in both research and teaching. This balance has led to both excellent research impact and consistently high student satisfaction. It provides post-graduate education through six MSc courses in a diverse range of areas. The School wishes to ensure its MSc courses continue to provide leading education to our full-time students while expanding the opportunities for students off-campus to study for a University of Manchester degree. It has developed a distance learning course in Electrical Power Systems Engineering and now wishes to grow this. The School is also committed to the development of new MSc courses and improving the experience of our existing students enrolled in both full time / distance learning modes. The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer to support the continued delivery of the distance learning course in Electrical Power Systems Engineering and support the wider development of MSc provision across the School. In the distance learning course you will work with academic staff, researchers and the University eLearning team to continually improve the course materials and manage the operational issues associated with the delivery of the course and its growth. You will also work with colleagues from across the school to grow and develop our other taught courses. The post is initially offered for a two year period. The post may be converted to a permanent position subject to successful completion of a probationary period and the generation of further funding through the recruitment of sufficient student numbers onto the distance learning programme. While the position is teaching focused, candidates interested in a teaching and research contract will be considered.
